S/V Tropicalia is currently cruising in the British Virgin Islands and returning to St. Augustine at the beginning of June, 2026.
Tropicalia is a privately owned 2010 Voyage 500—the youngest 500 in the fleet—built for private owners by Voyage Yachts in South Africa. She is a 3-cabin owner’s version, not a worn-out 4-cabin charter boat. She is our family’s beloved cruising platform, currently finishing a ten-month Caribbean loop, and we are selling her by owner as we make our way back to Florida in June.
We chose Tropicalia for her exceptional value. She is sleeker and has a longer waterline and wider stance than many production cats in this price range, meaning less windage, better motion through waves, and good bridgedeck clearance. She has 27 feet of beam so the salon is open and airy, featuring sliding glass doors to the cockpit. The galley is a real kitchen with a 4-burner gas cooktop and oven, XL deep freezer and separate refrigerator. Bulkheads and furniture are fiberglassed into the hull, so there is no creaking and flexing underway, as there is on many production cats with glued-in bulkheads and furniture. She is solid and dependable and offers comfortable accommodations and copious storage.
The entire starboard hull is the master: king berth, large head with a large stall shower, office, and walk-in closet. Two queen guest cabins in the port hull, each with an ensuite head and Jabsco electric toilet, plus a dedicated laundry area with washing machine. Dual Mabru air conditioners (12V and 110V).
She carries dual Victron inverter/chargers (3000W 230V + Multiplus 12/3000 120V) with two shore inlets, 800W solar, a 4kW Onan generator, pole-mounted 110V Starlink, and a Predict Wind Hub for live position tracking. On deck: factory extended teak rear deck, a 12.5′ Zodiac RIB with a 25hp Suzuki (under 100 hours), and hot-and-cold showers in both sugar scoops.
USCG Documented and US Duty Paid. Recent marine survey and rigging report available.
