Aurora is a like-new, recently-commissioned 2025 C-Cat 48 Carbon, hull #6 of this gorgeous performance catamaran. Preliminary photos.
It is one of the most exciting performance cruising catamarans to emerge from Europe in recent years. Built by Comar Yachts at their Fiumicino yard just outside Rome, the C-Cat 48 has quickly established itself at the forefront of the lightweight performance cruiser segment. The C-Cat 48 was awarded Multihull of the Year 2023 in the Sail Performance category. When you see the construction quality and review the specifications, it’s easy to understand why.
The construction is what truly sets the C-Cat apart from production catamarans in this size range. The hulls are built using single-shot vacuum-infused epoxy resin over multiaxial fiberglass and unidirectional carbon fabrics with Corecell sandwich core. The deck is full carbon infused Corecell sandwich. All primary bulkheads are carbon composite. The carbon mast carries a single set of swept spreaders and sits on an anodized aluminum mast foot, paired with an aluminum Park Avenue-style boom, rod forestay, and Dyform standing rigging. Two fully adjustable C-shaped carbon daggerboards provide variable draft, allowing you to tuck into the shallowest anchorages or point like a monohull when the breeze fills in.
Aurora features a unique layout with two queen cabins, a dedicated office, and two heads with separate showers, and has been optioned well above the base specification. The owner’s brief was simple: build a fast, capable bluewater cruiser that could be handled shorthanded yet entertain guests in style.
This is a rare opportunity to acquire a like-new, fully spec’d performance catamaran that’s ready for global cruising. Aurora is currently located in beautiful St. Augustine, FL. Please contact Andrew Hodgdon at The Multihull Company for full specifications or to discuss showings.
