Taillevant has always been based at Willsboro Marina on Lake Champlain in New York State, so she has spent most of her life in fresh water. In the fall of 2022, the owner relocated the yacht to the Caribbean, specifically to Martinique, and then moved her to the British Virgin Islands the following year. The owner has consistently maintained and upgraded the vessel, addressing any deficiencies with care; recent improvements have been made and other updates completed.
The Farr-designed Beneteau First 40 quickly established itself as a performer on the race circuit.
