“Wind Waker” is a highly upgraded and well maintained Beneteau Oceanis 41, three-cabin, one-head layout, ready for serious blue-water and eco-friendly cruising and to truly live off the grid.
She is currently in New Jersey but will be heading to Annapolis in early September.
Beneteau’s proven design with the full chine allows for an extra-wide cockpit, adds stability and increases performance.
The interior looks and feels like a bigger boat, and the Beneteau Oceanis 41 is an excellent performer in any conditions with its performance keel and carbon fiber sails.
The current owner spared no expense in upgrades and added many up-to-date features.
Cockpit. The cockpit is self-bailing with natural teak slatted benches and multiple lockers, including a liferaft locker under the helm seat (no liferaft) and a gas locker under the port helm seat. There are two steering wheel consoles with 900 mm leather-covered stainless steel wheels, steering gear at the helm station, stainless steel handrails, navigation instrument pods, and glass holders. A deck plate provides access to the tiller system and power supply, and an emergency tiller is provided. There are two steering compasses on the consoles, portside engine control and control panel, and a polyester cockpit table with folding leaves and storage in the lid. The cockpit also features a hot and cold water cockpit shower, a fixed composite arch with built-in lighting, and hinged PMMA companionway doors with a sliding PMMA hatch.
Companionway. Headroom is 1.93 m. The wooden salon companionway has molded wood hanging steps and two stainless steel handrails.
Salon. Headroom is 1.95 m. The salon features a U-shaped bench with double-density foam, a one-piece varnished wood salon table with inlay and aluminum legs, and a mirror on the starboard bulkhead. Cupboard units, cubbyhole lockers and storage along the hull provide ample stowage under the bench seats, and cubbyholes have stainless steel beading. There are two coachroof panoramic windows with curtains, two hull portholes with curtains, two opening portholes on the coaming in the side windows, one opening deck hatch with shutter and mosquito screen, LED interior lights, indirect lighting, and leather-covered handrails.
Chart table, portside. The chart table is sliding and can be configured with the armchairs; it can be placed against the forward bulkhead, against the galley, or between the two mobile seats. The table has a leaf and molded wood beading, and a switch panel on the bulkhead provides access to electrical functions.
Galley, port side. Headroom is 1.89 m. The L-shaped galley offers large countertop space, a stainless steel double-basin sink with a mixer tap and filtered pressure water, and a gas stove with stainless steel oven on gimbal mountings protected by a stainless steel handrail. The galley also includes a portable electric stove, a top-opening icebox, a front-opening 12 V refrigerator, fitted cupboards and closed cubbyholes with a garbage bin, a lower cupboard with drawer and shelves, an opening portlight with curtains in the coaming side windows, and a microwave.
Aft head compartment. The aft head is accessible from the salon or the starboard aft cabin and features a separate shower stall, an electric saltwater toilet with a 21 gallon holding tank (new 2021), a sink with hot and cold pressure water, a medicine cabinet, storage cupboard, two mirrors, and an opening port with curtain.
Starboard aft cabin. The starboard aft cabin has a large double berth (6’7″ x 5’3″), a hanging locker, storage along the hull side, one hull porthole with curtain, one cockpit window with curtains, one porthole opening onto the cockpit with curtain, and one flush deck hatch with shutter and mosquito screen.
Port aft cabin. The port aft cabin has a large double berth (6’7″ x 4’8″), a hanging locker, storage along the hull side, a fixed port with curtain, and an opening deck hatch with screen.
Forward cabin. The forward cabin has a central double bed (2.00 m x 1.88 m x 0.51 m), hanging lockers, a glove box, cubbyhole locker, a lower cupboard, stowage under the platform, a dressing table, three flush deck hatches with shutter and mosquito screen, two hull portholes with curtain, and indirect lighting.
Engine. Yanmar diesel 40 hp with Sail Drive SD60 is installed and shows 1,558 hours; engine control and control panel are located in the cockpit and the engine compartment is soundproofed with ventilation.
Electrical and plumbing. The vessel is equipped with 12 V and 115 V systems, shore power, a battery charging system, and a freshwater system with a rotomolded tank, water pressure system with expansion tank and inline filter, a 40 L electric water heater, a rigid holding tank for the aft head, delayed shower draining and electric shower drain pumps, an electric bilge pump and a manual bilge pump, and an electric icebox drain pump.
