Boat Description

The Tropic 56 TI-BAG offers a rare combination of blue-water capacity, significant waterline length, lightweight construction, and good looks at a very modest price. This is a simple and efficient sailor’s cat with sleek hulls that beckon passage-making. It was built by the La Rochelle, France, yard Naval Force 3, known for its wood-epoxy construction. The decks, coach-roof, and topsides are wood-epoxy, and everything under the waterline is fiberglass (GRP) construction—an excellent combination for light weight, stiffness, and durability.

The interior is laid out in a three-cabin owner version. The owner hull is to starboard with a large queen bunk aft and an expansive en-suite bath forward. Two guest cabins are to port with a bath. The interior is clean and luminous, features elegant wood finishes, and is easy to maintain.

If you are a cruiser who prioritizes light weight and waterline length for sailing performance, this is your cat. Amenities are smart, simple, and require minimal electrical power consumption.

The liveaboard owners sailed her throughout the Caribbean and to the South Pacific in a twenty-year odyssey of total enchantment. The owners made the deliberate choice for light weight, a simple sail plan, and low power consumption. It is an affordable, sober approach that keeps you on the water for years.
