Introducing S/V Sea Shanty. This 1972, 41′ Morgan Out Island was designed by renowned yacht designer Charles Morgan and built by Morgan Yachts in the United States. The Morgan Out Island series has become one of the most popular and commercially successful yacht designs in this size range; in fact there are more than 1,000 still sailing around the world today. These vessels were built stoutly and were used extensively in the charter industry as well as being a popular choice for many cruisers.
The 41′ Morgan Out Island was built with a variety of layouts; S/V Sea Shanty is the walk-over model. The walk-over model provides excellent privacy for those wishing to charter, have guests, or for a cruising family. The aft stateroom, featuring a queen berth, has its own private head and is fully closed off from the forward salon. Going forward from the spacious cockpit down the companionway, the galley is to port and is equipped with a propane stove and oven, a large single sink, and refrigeration. On the starboard side there is ample storage and counter space. The salon seats many guests with a settee to starboard that can be used for a single berth. Forward of the salon, the port-side head with a shower and the bow cabin with a cozy queen berth provide additional comfort and storage. The vessel is well ventilated with 14 opening ports complemented by transom, aft cabin, bow cabin, and galley hatches.
S/V Sea Shanty is powered by an original 40 hp Westerbeke 4107 diesel engine; hours are unknown.
The current owner has made some upgrades over the past year, which include new bottom paint sanded right down and treated with West Marine Premium anti-fouling in May 2025.
While S/V Sea Shanty may require some tender loving care to restore her to prime cruising condition, she remains a vessel of solid reputation, ready to embark on new adventures and a worthy investment.
