Boat Description

UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY ON ST JOHN — FOR SALE: LEOPARD 44 “BUYING TIME”

S/V Buying Time is a US-flagged 2011 Leopard 44 bluewater catamaran for sale by owner. Built by Robertson and Caine in South Africa and originally designed by the USA team of Gino Morrelli and Pete Melvin, the Leopard 44 was named “Boat of the Year” on introduction in 2011 for its combination of performance, easy handling and the revolutionary forward cockpit. This particular vessel is offered with financial settlement only; trades will not be considered.

This Leopard 44 has been optimized for comfortable cruising and liveaboard use. The yacht is equipped with twin Yanmar 40 HP diesel engines, a 6 kW Northern Lights generator, two 16,000 BTU air conditioning units, 1,200 watts of solar and a lithium house battery bank to support efficient off-grid operation. Deck systems include electric self-tailing winches adjacent to the protected helm, electric windlass and electric davits. Back deck enclosures and the functional hard-top bimini extend protected outdoor living space, while the well-known forward “front door” cockpit provides an additional sheltered lounge/dining area.

The boat is configured with four double cabins and three heads; the fourth head has been converted to house an additional fridge and a washing machine, making provisioning and extended cruising convenient.

Included in the sale: a mooring on beautiful St John, two kayaks for beach access and a top-of-the-line 2021 Highfield Classic 340 (11’2”) rigid inflatable tender with a 30 HP four-stroke Mercury outboard. Buying Time is sold fully furnished with bedding, kitchenware, microwave, Starlink, Smart TV and common cruising equipment. For a capable, comfortable and well-equipped Leopard 44 ready for immediate cruising, Buying Time is a compelling option. If the buyer chooses, the boat can be delivered in Florida.
