Boat Description

PRICE REDUCED!!

Introducing S/V Forquilla, a beautifully refitted Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 45.2, completely restored in 2023–2024 and meticulously prepared for long voyages. These vessels were designed by Philippe Briand and the Jeanneau Design Team and built by Jeanneau in France from 1997 to 2003. Known for their high-quality construction and luxurious accommodations, the Sun Odyssey 45.2 offers the best of both worlds as a proven, seaworthy vessel without sacrificing creature comforts.

S/V Forquilla has been the cherished home of a Spanish family for the past five years, during which they navigated the globe, including a memorable Atlantic crossing in 2024. They have documented their journey on social media as @velero_forquilla, showcasing the boat’s adventures and their unique lifestyle on the open water. With the arrival of their second child, they have made the bittersweet decision to pass this beloved sailboat on to a new owner who will continue to nurture her spirit and keep the dream of adventure alive.

This beautiful, spacious Jeanneau Sun Odyssey has a stunning teak interior in immaculate condition. The three-cabin, two-head layout features a double owner’s cabin in the bow with an en-suite head and two cabins in the stern with the second head located next to the galley; both heads are equipped with a shower and a marine manual toilet. All of the double berths have new (2024) breathable mattresses and premium-quality bedding for comfort. There is a folding bed system with hydraulics installed (2024) in the bow cabin to take advantage of storage under the bed. In the salon, the main table is on hydraulic legs with custom cushions that allow converting the central space into a large bed for extra guests. The galley has ample counter space with large sinks and is equipped with an independent chest-style refrigerator and freezer with digital thermostat, an induction cooktop, and an electric oven for greater safety. For extra comfort there are two air conditioners serving the cabins and main living areas.

S/V Forquilla is powered by a well-maintained 55 hp Yanmar diesel engine with 4,081 hours. The boat received new rigging in 2023, has the tall rig mast, and is equipped with a comprehensive sail and navigation inventory suitable for extended passagemaking.

The current owners have installed a significant amount of high-quality equipment for extended cruising, including a new power system and upgraded energy generation and storage, a genset, and a desalinator. A sturdy stern platform supports energy and communications gear, and security and monitoring systems have been added. The dinghy is carried with options for both electric and gasoline outboards to ensure reliable shore access.

This unique vessel is being sold with many spare parts, tools, and safety equipment. New bronze through-hulls and bottom valves were installed in 2024. A detailed inventory and a comprehensive list of the extensive upgrades performed during the refit are available.

S/V Forquilla is currently stored on the hard in Río Dulce, Guatemala, recognized as one of the safest hurricane shelters in the Caribbean. The boat is meticulously maintained under full cover, kept dehumidified using two new dehumidifiers onboard, and is checked monthly by a trusted local caretaker.

S/V Forquilla is more than just a sailboat; it is an invitation to explore the world, create unforgettable memories, and embrace the freedom of the sea. If you are ready to embark on new adventures, S/V Forquilla is waiting for you to continue her legacy!
