Boat Description

ILLNESS FORCES SALE – HERE’S YOUR CHANCE!!!

The Gozzard 36 is a cutter-rigged sloop with a long keel and a skeg-hung rudder and with her clipper bow and beautiful traditional lines, she turns heads in every port. “GOODY 2 SHES” has a distinctive profile with a clipper bow, a bowsprit, and a reverse transom. The hull is made of hand-laid fiberglass with a balsa core above the waterline. The deck is also cored with balsa, except for high-stress areas where plywood is used. The deck has a molded nonskid surface and plenty of teak trim.

The Gozzard 36’s versatile forward cabin can quickly be changed from a roomy settee area to a walk around double berth in seconds.  There is dining for 6 people comfortably inside or in the large cockpit, excellent galley and head aft.  She has a fold over transom that provide easy access from the stern. The current owners have owned the boat for fifteen years and due to health issues have decided to sell the boat.

ACCOMMODATIONS & LAYOUT:
One of the most remarkable features of the Gozzard 36 is its flexible interior layout. The boat can be configured in different ways depending on your preferences and needs. The main cabin can be transformed from an open salon to a private stateroom with the help of folding bulkheads and sliding doors.

Entering the vessel, from the wonderfully roomy cockpit, through the centerline companionway, to port is the head/shower. It has a marine toilet, a sink with hot and cold water, and a shower with a sump pump. There is also storage space for toiletries and towels.

Forward is the dining table and L-shaped settee to starboard and the galley runs along the port side of this area. The galley is located to port of the companionway. It has an L-shaped counter with a double stainless steel sink, a three-burner propane stove with oven, and a top-loading refrigerator/freezer. There is also ample storage space for dishes, pots, pans, and food.

The main saloon offers a roomy sitting room and the two settees forward provide a living room atmosphere – these settees slide together in seconds creating a large walk around berth.  This area closes off into a private cabin if desired.

There is an abundance of storage and innovative ideas in the interior of this boat. Excellent ventilation is offered by eight large opening ports throughout and two butterfly hatches on deck.

The interior joiner work is of excellent quality and traditional in varnished teak and all the locker doors have cane inserts which are both decorative and provide excellent ventilation.

The navigation station is located to starboard of the companionway. It has a large chart table with drawers and shelves for charts, books, instruments, and electronics. There is also an electrical panel, and room for additional electronics.

There are curtains and screens throughout. The mahogany interior wood is beautiful.

ABOVE DECK, DECK HARDWARE & SAFETY:
On deck, there there is a single wheel steering in an aft cockpit, which that can seat six people comfortably. The cockpit has a dodger and a bimini for protection from the sun and rain and also has a large locker for storage and access to the engine compartment.

“Goody 2 Shoes” has a masthead rig with a deck-stepped aluminum mast and stainless steel standing rigging. The mast has two sets of spreaders and a single backstay. The boat has roller furling on both the jib and the staysail for easy reefing.

There are teak cabin top handrails, and bow and stern rails with double lifelines forward for secure deck work.  The roomy cockpit features seating for a full crew, with straight backrests with high combings, large seat lockers, port & starboard, winch handle pockets and engine controls.

The deck arrangement is well balanced. The foredeck is large enough for sail handling and ground tackle and the side decks are wide enough for safe passage.
