Fountaine Pajot Astrea 42 – a modern cruising catamaran distinguished by abundant natural light, energetic lines and elegant living spaces designed for unparalleled comfort underway. The Astrea 42 blends the yard’s commitment to innovation with the classic Fountaine Pajot identity: an inverted bow provides an elegant, dynamic profile while yielding exceptional interior volume. The layout and flow were conceived to facilitate free movement throughout the boat and to link the helm station seamlessly with outdoor relaxation and living areas from coachroof to cockpit, making her a rewarding platform for couples, families or friends cruising in comfort.
This particular hull sustained storm damage and was demasted during Hurricane Ida in 2020 while moored in Pensacola, FL. Importantly, she was never submerged and the interior remains in very good condition. The fiberglass structural damage was professionally repaired in Florida (repair invoices available; repair cost approximately $160,000). Following the repairs she was moved to Hitchcock, Texas, where she is currently moored.
As delivered, the Astrea 42 features an ergonomically designed coachroof with a double helm seat and an integrated sun lounger, providing excellent visibility and comfortable social space at the helm. The design supports easy circulation and makes the connection between sailing operations and leisure areas intuitive and direct — a strong advantage for extended cruising and entertaining.
The rig was removed when the boat was demasted; the owner still retains the mainsail and gennaker. There is a current, itemized quote available for replacement sails and rigging, so prospective buyers can evaluate the scope and cost to return her to a fully rigged sailing condition.
This is an opportunity to acquire an Astrea 42 with certified structural repairs and documentation, a clean interior, and clear paths to recommissioning. Invoices and the rigging/sail quote are available on request. Please contact us for further technical details, repair documentation and to discuss options for completion and delivery.
