S/V Sirena is a 1984 Brewer Huromic 35′ steel cutter. Starting in 1977, the Huromic 35, also known as the Goderich 35, was designed by Canadian-born Ted Brewer and built by Huromic Metal Ind. Ltd. S/V Sirena was built with a 3/16″ steel hull in 1984 in the Brewer shipyard. This vessel is a heavy blue-water sailboat capable of circumnavigation. The Huromic 35 is safe and stable at sea with a comfort ratio of 33.27.
S/V Sirena has been cruised over the years from the Atlantic to the Caribbean and is now Guatemala registered. The current owners haven’t owned S/V Sirena long, as a sudden opportunity arose to build a house, so they have chosen a different direction. This vessel has been outfitted to go cruising and has had some maintenance done. The bottom was sand-blasted and two coats of epoxy were applied. In July 2023, new paint was applied to the bottom and hull sides, and the rudder was fitted with two new bearings.
S/V Sirena is cutter-rigged with the mainsail and headsail in nearly new condition and she has heavy rigging. She can cruise at speeds up to 7 knots. A few handy features on this vessel are the hard dodger, stainless steel rails surrounding the deck from bow to stern, and an arch for solar panels. There is more room for guests on deck with the extra seating on the aft corner rails. There are 11 opening bronze portlights and two opening hatches for plenty of ventilation. On the interior, S/V Sirena has 7 ft of headroom with lots of woodwork throughout in fair condition and one cozy sleeping cabin in the v-berth. This vessel has more storage than meets the eye with large hanging lockers and storage behind the salon settees. The galley has a large sink and a manual/electric water filter system, a 12 V refrigerator and icebox, and a three-burner propane oven. The head has a manual toilet and a removable shower head on the sink for showering. In the aft starboard corner across from the galley, there is a large, deep storage compartment.
S/V Sirena is a proven seaworthy vessel outfitted with some good equipment, but she needs some TLC to get her in optimal condition. If you are looking for a solid offshore cruiser, then this vessel is worth a look at this price!
