The Beneteau Oceanis 46.1 is a luxurious vessel with excellent sailing credentials thanks to the fine bow, long waterline, and flat underwater shape of the hull. The hard chine creates vast interior volume above the waterline, and on the Oceanis 46.1 the beam is carried aft to create an enormous cockpit which is comfortable under sail and has space for numerous guests and crew. The full-width, fold-down transom and dual helms allow seamless flow to and from the water, a plus for cruisers.
Fat Bottom Girl stands out from the rest of the 46.1s in that the standard pedestals were removed and custom pedestals installed to accommodate larger (Zeus 9) chartplotters and fly-by-wire throttle controls at each helm — this is a huge advantage to the skipper who can be at either helm when docking the boat.
Fat Bottom Girl is configured as the 3-cabin, 2-head layout. The starboard aft cabin is the guest cabin, with an aft head en suite; the port cabin is configured as a storeroom, with washer/dryer and pantry lockers. The owner’s cabin is in the bow, with a split-head configuration, head and vanity to port and shower and vanity to starboard.
Fat Bottom Girl has numerous upgrades and customizations.
Fat Bottom Girl has spent her life on the Chesapeake Bay, so she has seen light duty. Don’t miss out; she’s ready for the next adventure — are you?
