Introducing S/V Promise, a 1971 Alberg 37 ketch designed by Carl Alberg and built by Whitby Boat Works Ltd. in Canada. The Alberg 37 was first launched in 1967 and produced until 1988, with 248 units constructed. Known for solid fiberglass construction, it is ideal for offshore voyages and circumnavigation. Recognized as number three on Practical Sailor’s list of the five best classic sailboats, this vessel is in excellent condition.
This vessel has a cozy two-cabin layout with one head that includes a shower and sump pump. The V-berth sleeps two, and the folding settee in the main cabin can be used as a single berth. The dinette table converts to an additional double berth. The galley is well equipped, LED lighting has been installed throughout, and all original portlights have been replaced with larger stainless-steel units to prevent leaks and improve ventilation and aesthetics.
S/V Promise has been outfitted for cruising with an upgraded electrical system, solar power, a backup generator, a watermaker, and ample ground tackle. A tender and outboard are included to facilitate going ashore.
The vessel is powered by a strong, well-maintained diesel engine, and the current owners have performed regular maintenance to ensure solid performance. Her sails and both standing and running rigging are in good condition, and she is equipped with modern navigation and communication systems. The exterior features a roomy cockpit with a dodger and a hard bimini for protection from the elements.
S/V Promise is priced to sell, with all reasonable offers considered. Don’t miss the opportunity to own this well renowned, reputable offshore cruiser; she is ready to sail away now!
