The Pearl original Club Med, then Ex Maiden II, Doha 2006, is a French purpose designed and built
thoroughbred ocean racing catamaran. It was built specifically to enter “The Race” a non-stop round the world yacht race in 2001, which she won
completing the race in just over 62 days.
Since launched in May 2000 this groundbreaking catamaran has set sailing records in both east bound and west bound Atlantic crossings, with the most nautical miles sailed in 24 hours, bettering it’s own record on three further occasions. In Febuary 201 it set the record for saling 655 miles averageing 27.29 kts during a 24hrs period. It was also the winner of the Oryx Quest 2005 non-stop round the
world yacht race starting and finishing in Doha Qatar. Since the completion of the Oryx Quest 2005 non-stop round the world yacht race The Pearl has remained in the waters of Doha, Qatar.
