In January we installed a 1500 watt Xantrex Invertor, that supplies power to the 6 110v power outlets. Our Gemini Catamaran also has 330 watts of Solar Panels to supply the charging of the 3 8G24M Gel Cell batteries, no lead acid battery gasses. Starter battery is a D24DC 12 volt new last year, this also backs up the new NG31 battery for the windless. Hoisting your anchor was never so easy as with the Quick 5000w High Performance electric windless with 200' of 5/16" BBB chain, no chafed rods from the coral reefs. The shower is emptied by a Whale Gulper 2000 pump, no need for those messy strainer filters that you have to clean out all the time. The Spectra 150 water maker makes sure that you won't run out of water while using the Shurflo 4gpm Aqua King II water pump, which supplies the Hot and Cold water for the Galley and Head.
This maybe a used Catamaran but the Westerbeke 30B3 Diesel engine is strong and sips the fuel wether Motor sailing or just motoring. We just had the top end overhauled, Rebuilt injectors, the valves were lapped and seated, new glow plugs, new head bolts, all new gaskets and belts. The head was Die Penetrate tested and found no cracks. The engine and transmission were checked for alignment. Two years ago we had the stern of our Gemini checked because movement of the outdrive was noticed. We found water had gotten into the fiberglass core. The stern was rebuilt with 3 layers of 3/4" encapsulated marine plywood, this was all sealed together and fiber glassed into the stern. This may seem like a lot of over kill but we wanted no more problems.
The Main sail is original and has 2 rows of reefing points, both main and Jib are in great shape and when not in use they are always kept in sail bags. We have replaced the backstay rod as it was looking frayed. We also replaced the Mainsail rod and the rod for the topping lift, all done in January of 2018. There are also 2 self tailing winches with handles that are in great shape. The Chain Plates under the counter have been replaced with 316ss plate with gussets. For ground tackle this Catamaran has 2-33# Bruce anchors 1 has 200' of 5/16" BBB chain, the other 33# Bruce is on 200' of 7/16" rod and 15' of 1/4" chain, 1 22-S Danforth on 200' of 7/16" rod and 15' of 1/4" chain. The center boards have recently been rigged with Dyneema Rope. Bottom anti-fouling paint was done in falloff 2017.
Over the years of sailing our Gemini 105 Mc we have gathered the spare parts that we seemed to need most. These will go with the Gemini.
Off the Grid is a 3 owner Gemini Catamaran from new, she has been cruised extensively through the islands and is well proven.
