This entry-level catamaran design emphasizes all of the multihull’s advantages – performance, stability, comfort, visibility, accommodation and go-anywhere shallow draft. Her light weight core construction, vacuum-bagged with ISO resins, low-drag underwater shape has minimum wetted surface area and optimal prismatic coefficient – perfect for overnights or coastal cruising. The aerodynamic hull and cabin profiles coupled with an efficient rig aids in greatly reducing wind drag, while her centerboard design makes tacking and balance on all points of sail an absolute breeze.
For a 32-footer, her 16-foot beam and wide bridgedeck clearance provides a seriously stable platform. It also helps that the sail area is kept low to minimize forces of heeling.
Through this high-resolution virtual presentation, users can explore the large comfortable cockpit and center helm console with perimeter seating. As you move through onto the salon, you’ll notice plenty of natural light and the fact that it’s quite airy for a 32-footer (6’6” head room throughout!). The salon area features an expansive table with seating for six to eight guests. An additional highlight about TomCat’s design is that whether you’re standing or seated in the salon, or down within one of the hulls, the unique ‘open’ design allows full 360 degree views via the hardtop with windows and opening hatches which enclose the aft portion of the salon and provides helm coverage overhead.
Let's talk accommodations. You'll find aft double berths occupy each of the hulls and an impressive owner’s stateroom with vanity and large double berth forward. Head with shower. The salon itself also converts into an extra double berth. Large galley with stove, fridge and over 10 ft. countertop space and includes a 4 cu. ft. fridge, stove with oven, and SS sink.
The proper layout for your boat is as personal as your selection and furnishing of a home. The spaces of the TomCat 9.7 are adaptable to vary the number and sizes of berths, the salon seating, the size and arrangement of the galley, storage and tankage. From a couple on an extended cruise to a "party boat" with family and friends aboard for the weekend, there is a layout to meet your needs. We think the one shown here will be popular for a family or a couple with occasional guests.
