This is a great opportunity to own one of the most respected performance cruising catamarans ever built. STRATEGY X is Hull #3 of the Outremer 45, featuring the Owner’s Version three-cabin layout and several recent updates.

The original design brief for the Outremer 45 was to build a catamaran that could cross oceans quickly, safely, and in genuine comfort without sacrificing either end of that equation. Outremer has been building performance cruising catamarans in La Grande-Motte, France since 1984, and the 45 represents the distillation of that heritage: lightweight construction, a powerful sail plan, and a hull form designed to move efficiently in all conditions. The daggerboard design provides fantastic upwind sailing performance while also allowing access to shallow anchorages. The result is a catamaran that can confidently be sailed offshore as a performance passage-maker while still living aboard at anchor in the manner of a comfortable cruising boat.

Outremer’s build quality is legendary among serious offshore sailors. The 45 features a Divinycell-cored hull construction infused with vinylester resin for superior osmotic resistance, a performance-oriented narrow hull form, and a rig designed to carry a broad and capable sail inventory. STRATEGY X has been further refined with a mast modification to a 64.5 ft bridge clearance, opening the entire ICW and most East Coast anchorages without any compromise to the headsail inventory, and a 3 ft reduction in the mid-mainsail section that lowers the center of effort, reduces pitching in a chop, and makes offshore passages smoother.
