S/V Twister Overview
S/V Twister is a 1987 Moody 376 center cockpit designed by Bill Dixon and built by Moody Yachts to Lloyds Certification. There were 313 made from 1987 to 1991. These vessels are popular offshore cruisers, designed to be solid, safe, and comfortable at sea. The Moody 376 is renowned for its ability to perform well in a full range of weather conditions. No need to sacrifice comfort for great sailing performance, as the Moody 376 has both. The accommodations are excellent for a family or 2 couples, and the secure, spacious center cockpit design makes for easy handling. The Moody 376 has a small sugar scoop transom, an evolution to the Moody 37.
Interior Features
On the interior, S/V Twister has an abundant amount of space with 6 ft headroom throughout. She is a very comfortable 2 cabin layout and sleeps 6. The galley is well equipped. The salon is spacious, and the L-shaped settee to starboard and another settee to port provide plenty of seating. In the aft is a large, cozy double cabin, with the aft head converted to storage. The large walk-in v-berth has its own head with shower. A comfortable new mattress was made and additional shelving was added for more storage in 2019. In 2023, the interior ceiling was redone and all the wiring was completely redone with new LED lighting.
Cruising Equipment
S/V Twister has been outfitted to go cruising and is prepared for extended voyages.
Engine and Sails
This vessel is powered by a well-maintained diesel engine. All her sails are in good condition.
Upgrades and Maintenance
S/V Twister has been well cared for and cruised seasonally throughout the Caribbean. Some important upgrades have been done over the last few years; in 2019, new standing rigging and chain plates were installed, along with new mast steps and granny bars. The spreader lights were replaced with new LED lights in 2023.
