2023 Lagoon 50 — Owner’s Version – Never Chartered – Cruising Ready
WISDOM represents a rare opportunity to step into a highly specified, actively cruising 2023 Lagoon 50 Owner’s Version. She was has been configured for extended, autonomous cruising, combining Lagoon’s renowned volume with heavy-duty, off-grid power systems. She has never been chartered and has only seen use as a private family cruising vessel.
Unlike the standard charter layouts, WISDOM features the highly sought after Owner’s Version layout, with the starboard hull dedicated to a massive, light-filled owner’s cabin with a queen-sized island berth, a dedicated office area, settee, and huge head with walk-in shower, dual sinks on opposing walls, and an enclosed water-closet. WISDOM was also optioned with the rare addition of midship double berths in both hulls, providing a total of 5 double cabins, which makes her the absolute ideal cruising platform for a large family.
WISDOM’s electrical system has been upgraded for off-grid autonomy with a 1320aH LiFePo4 Lithium house bank and 1520W of solar backed by a reliable, low-hour Cummins Onan 11kW genset. Paired with the 100L/h Dessalator Watermaker, she has the ability to cruise independently for months at a time.
She has been meticulously maintained with an open checkbook, upgraded thoughtfully, and is ready to continue cruising with new owners.
Logistics & Ownership Flexibility: WISDOM is currently cruising the Eastern Caribbean islands flying a St. Kitts & Nevis flag, which offers a an advantageous pathway for US-based buyers. She is positioned well for a US citizen to purchase and operate under a US Cruising Permit by maintaining existing St. Kitts registration or another foreign flag (BVI, Cayman Islands, and Marshall Islands are straightforward alternatives). This allows a new US owner to legally cruise US waters immediately while maintaining the foreign flag, offering flexibility regarding tax and import strategies. She is scheduled for arrival in Sint Maarten in late April ’26, allowing for a duty-free handover.
EXTENDED DESCRIPTION
Exterior & Deck
Massive entertaining spaces – Wisdom is designed for hosting. The cockpit flows seamlessly into the salon, creating a massive indoor-outdoor living area, while the forward lounge offers a private retreat for sunsets. The Flybridge has a full factory-optioned hardtop bimini and complete wet weather enclosure providing shade and protection around the helm seating and huge daybed area. It creates a genuine second living room where you can escape the rest of the boat, or pilot the vessel in total comfort.
Push-button, singlehanded sailing – Despite being a big boat with a large sail area, Wisdom is set up for easy singlehanded operation. All flybridge winches are electric, so raising the big fully battened square top main is a low effort operation, as is trimming the sheets. An electric Harken Flatwinder trims the captive traveler line with ease, greatly improving ease of control of the main when fully loaded. The designers brought the mast further aft than previous models, allowing for a large self-tacking jib, resulting in a powerful sail plan that can be managed by a single watchkeeper without ever leaving the helm. The removable furling Code 0 tacked to the bowsprit rounds out the sail plan and allows for making good speed at reaching angles even in light winds.
Hydraulic Tenderlift / Swim Platform – The hydraulic platform makes launching and recovering the dinghy a one-person job accomplished in well under a minute with no physical exertion. When not securing the dingy, the platform has two leaves that fold down to create a huge swimming and sun bathing platform.
Salon & Galley
Panoramic views and massive storage – The salon is bathed in light with 360-degree views and features a massive U-shaped settee and dining table that is stepped up from galley floor, providing useful separation between the working versus relaxing area. Ventilation is vastly improved over earlier generations of catamarans by doing away with the small forward facing hatches and replacing them with around a large downward-sliding window forward of the settee, allowing huge volumes of air to move through the salon and galley and out through the cockpit, cooling all three spaces. It is difficult to overstate the value how critical of an element this is to comfort in tropical cruising.
Living aboard Wisdom means no compromises to convenience. The galley is centered around a large 4-burner range and oven, microwave, and dishwasher with ample counter space to port, center, and starboard, giving multiple preparation spaces. You will never run out of space for provisions, with cold storage FIVE separate refrigerators and freezers. The galley features 3 stainless steel Isotherm units: a drawer style fridge and freezer as well as a front opening freezer. There is an additional stainless steel 130L front-opening fridge built into in the port hull passageway as well as a freestanding cooler-style fridge/freezer unit for flexible storage.
Starboard Owner’s Hull
A true sanctuary – The entire starboard hull is dedicated to the owner. The aft master cabin features a queen island bed and huge hull windows that let you wake up to the view of the anchorage. Forward of the bed there is ample closet and drawer space leading up to a large desk and corner settee. The desk area provides the option of having a dedicated, comfortable office space that could easily accommodate a large or dual monitors.
Spa-like Head – Forward is a massive bathroom with a large separate shower stall, two countertops with Jack and Jill sinks positioned across from each other, and an enclosed toilet, offering privacy and space rarely found on a boat this size.
Versatile Mid-Cabin – This unique Owner’s 5-cabin layout includes a special mid-ship cabin on the owner’s side. Currently used as a bedroom for the owners’ young child, it offers the next owners the opportunity to keep a child close without sacrificing the spaciousness of their owner’s hull or convert it to a massive walk-in closet (offered as a Lagoon option), workspace, or storage area.
Port Cabins & Heads
VIP Treatment for guests – The port hull features three double cabins. Fore and aft are two equally large and beautiful cabins with queen-sized island beds, both with large hanging lockers and spacious en-suite heads with separate showers stalls. Both cabins are spacious, airy and bright from the large hull windows and overhead hatches. The third cabin is midship, mirroring the one in the starboard hull, featuring a queen-sized double bed.
The forward head has a separate external door to the hallway, allowing it to be used as a day head for guests or shared if someone is occupying the port midship cabin
There is even a crew cabin in the port forepeak, perfect for extra storage or a crew member.
Engines & Mechanical
Wisdom is powered by the upgraded Yanmar 4JH80 diesel engines (80hp), a significant step up from the standard 57hp models, giving substantial reserve power. These are mated to robust SD60 saildrives (a major improvement over the previous generation SD50s) and push the boat effortlessly with Flexofold folding propellers.
Incredible Access – Maintenance is a dream in the spacious engine rooms, providing comfortable access to all sides of the engines. These spaces also house the heart of the mechanical systems, giving you easy access to the steering gear, hydraulic pump for the tender lift, and electrical system.
A 24v electric bowthruster in the port bow with dedicated batteries and charger provides a significant increase in close quarters maneuverability.
Electrical System
Off-grid energy is not a problem aboard Wisdom. The 12V house bank has been massively upgraded with 3x 460AH Epoch Li-Ion batteries (Total 1380AH) installed in June 2024 in Sint Maarten. Solar power is provided by a 1520W solar array (8x 115W on the roof + 3x 200W on the bimini) keeping the batteries topped up via modern Victron SmartSolar MPPT controllers. Occasional shortfalls in solar charging on cloudy days are quickly made up for using the powerful and reliable Cummins Onan 11kW generator, which also allows running multiple high-load appliances like the air conditioners and 100L/h watermaker simultaneously.
This is a European 230V/50hz vessel, but is adaptable to American 240v/60hz/50A shore power. The current owners spent the 2025 hurricane season cruising the US east coast, staying in many marinas along the way with no compatibility concerns.
Electronics & Communications System
Full B&G Suite – The navigation station is equipped with the top-tier B&G Zeus 3S 16" chartplotter at the helm, providing crystal clear data and radar overlay, along with a full suite of sailing instruments. The system includes B&G Halo 20+ Radar, B&G Autopilot with remote, and NAIS 500 AIS transceiver to keep you safe and visible. Starlink internet rounds out the communications suite, providing worldwide high speed connectivity, even hundreds of miles offshore.
Dinghy & Outboard
The tender is a 2023 Highfield CL340 (11') RIB with a center console, offering a dry and stable ride. It is powered by a reliable Suzuki 25hp 4-stroke outboard (new in 2023), which is plenty of power to get the family and groceries on plane and back to the mothership quickly.
