Boat Description

NADI is a proven blue water circumnavigating catamaran. Angelo Lavranos designed this 48-ft Knysna to give the owners confidence to go anywhere they would like to go in comfort and speed. This design, with the high bows, long waterline, and ample bridge deck clearance, makes for great sailing in almost all conditions.

The bright interior, large staterooms, and heads make life very comfortable.

Owner statement:

We bought the boat for the comfort and build quality of the Knysna brand. After an extensive refit we set sail through the Bahamas, the Exuma chain, just my wife and me. The boat sails wonderfully in 15–20 knots of wind, sailing at 7–9 knots even in heavier weather.

We spent six months in the Bahamas making great friends all through the Exuma chain. Then we sailed north to Jamaica, making our way down to Panama. The sail was wonderful with 20–30 knots of wind. We were reefed the whole time, still making an average of 7.5 knots. With 8–12 ft swell on the beam, the boat still felt safe and comfortable.

From Panama we sailed to Saint Andres and Providencia. We spent several months there enjoying the water and Colombian culture. From Providencia we sailed to the Cayman Islands, averaging over 180 miles a day. Then from the Cayman Islands we sailed back to Florida and found out we were going to have a baby.

The boat is built very well and strong, and I don’t have anything bad to say about its design and construction. After four years of living on board, it was a very pleasant home.
