Introducing S/V Gypsy Fever! This well cared for 1974 Irwin 32.5 Center Cockpit was designed by the renowned Ted Irwin and built by Irwin Yacht and Marine Corporation in St. Petersburg, Florida. The 32.5 Center Cockpit is notable for its thick, solid fiberglass hull, which ensures durability, while its shoal-draft keel with a skeg-hung rudder allows for exceptional maneuverability in shallow waters, making it an excellent option for coastal gunk-holing and exploring Caribbean waters.
S/V Gypsy Fever has a rich history, having been lived aboard and sailed extensively throughout the coastal waters of Florida before being acquired by the current owner in 2017. After upgrades in Florida, the vessel journeyed down the coast through Mexico and Belize to Guatemala, where it has been a cherished liveaboard since 2018. The vessel was imported and is now registered in Guatemala.
Below deck, the interior volume and 6.2-foot headroom surpass many competitors in the 32-foot class, offering a comfortable two-cabin living space that is ideal for extended trips or weekend getaways. The forward cabin features a generous double berth, a hanging locker, and ample storage. Natural light and ventilation are provided by a large opening hatch and multiple opening ports. The head is located on the starboard side and includes shower capability. The large salon offers plenty of seating and is adjacent to the galley. The aft cabin is accessible via a walkthrough to port and offers a cozy double berth with an extra settee, an opening hatch and ports for ventilation, and abundant storage. The vessel is equipped with marine air conditioning for comfort on hot days.
S/V Gypsy Fever is powered by a well-maintained diesel engine that is run monthly; a new transmission was installed in 2019 and the rigging was replaced that same year. The sails are in very good condition, with the headsail replaced in 2018. A new teak bowsprit was installed in 2022. The vessel has received electrical and power system upgrades in recent years.
On the exterior, S/V Gypsy Fever is solid with no soft spots on the decks. The bottom was professionally sandblasted and barrier coated, with anti-fouling applied. The hatches received new plexiglass with solar vents. The cockpit is fully enclosed with screens for shelter from the weather, and sturdy davits are installed for lifting a dinghy.
S/V Gypsy Fever is a solid, capable coastal cruiser. With all the hard work done, you can focus on enjoying the thrill of sailing. Don’t miss the chance to make this exceptional sailboat your own!
