Spirit of Juno is one of ten Farr-designed round-the-world racers, built for speed and safe passage in virtually any weather conditions. Constructed by Colvic Yachts in 1999 and reinforced with Kevlar for extra rigidity, the bulb keel draws only 10 ft, allowing access to most harbors while providing good sailing performance.
The powerful masthead rig drives the 27-ton vessel easily, and the sails are handled with a coffee-style manual power system.
She also features watertight bulkheads fore and aft for extra safety.
Chainplates and keel bolts appear to be in excellent condition.
In 2022, over $70,000 was invested in new racing sails.
The layout has sail storage forward with a watertight bulkhead, heads and showers, pipe-cot berths for the crew, and a centrally located galley with full facilities to cook and prepare food. The galley includes a propane stove with remote controls and a fume detector.
The galley also has refrigeration and freezer capacity.
The vessel is equipped with a pressurized water system, and the water and fuel tanks are made of nylon.
