ONCE AROUND

Layout & Accommodations

Once Around’s layout has achieved the maximum level of comfort, stowage and safety that’s possible in a 42 ft sailboat. In the forepeak just aft of the chain locker, you’ll find a guest head with shower, storage compartments and opening overhead hatch. This head serves the forward sleeping quarters with its double pullman berth to starboard, settee to port, hanging locker, drawer and shelves. It also has an overhead opening hatch and is well lit both naturally and by overhead 12v lighting.

The main salon is next aft and is bright, airy and comfortable. It has a U-shaped settee to starboard surrounding a lovely dining table. The furniture has been reupholstered in DuroTouch fabric throughout the cabin and in the forward stateroom. There is ample storage here also, with outboard cabinets, shelves and drawers, as well as behind and below sttee cushions. The companionway ladder at the aft end of the salon has its steps covered in “non slip” I/O carpeting.

To port, the complete Navigation Station housing the VHF radio (RAM mike at helm) and Furuno chart plotter, a large chart surface, a hanging locker just forward, locker aft, drawers, outboard storage etc.

Aft of the Navigation station is the Galley with its 4-burner propane stove and oven, large refrigerator with freezer compartment, Seagull water purification system and both pressure water and foot-activated pump for backup. The galley runs along the port side aft to the owner’s stateroom and provides great of safety for the cook when working underway. There is a great deal of cabinet, locker and drawer storage, both outboard and inboard, along with extensive counter space. This is truly a seagoing galley.

All cabins are extremely well ventilated by screened overhead hatches and screened opening ports; and they are well lighted by these and additional fixed ports. Hella fans are located in all the cabins and along with reverse cycle air conditioning/heating.
