The layout and accomodation is bright and airy. Plenty of opening ports and hatches (all with screens) make for a comfortable live-aboard and island cruiser. Large nav station and protected cockpit means comfort in any weather.
The galley is sufficient for cruising or weekending. The two burner LPG stove is conveniently located with plenty of counter space and the 120v outlet that can be powered by inverter allows for a toaster oven (included) or microwave use. The frig/freezer is 12v powered and its' power demand is easily maintained by the solar panels. Filtered water at the galley sink means never tasting "tank water"
The deck on this PDQ model is emmence. Whether you are working the Gennaker, anchoring or just lounging about there is a secure feeling having all that deck space about you. The well laid out rig means that raising, lowering or reefing is all done from the safety of the cockpit.
The GPS chart plotter has internal charts of the entire US water system and the Bahamas south to the Exumas. It also keeps track of the course/speed and with the additional DSM sonar module even give a clear view of the bottom structure. Autopilot, wind speed and depth are easily accessed by the Raymarine tri data instruments and of course there is a Ritchie compass in easy view of the helm
The power requirements of a cruisiing boat are easily met by the 4 solar panels mounted on the cockpit roof. Two banks of batteries providing 750 amp hour storage will easily get you through the occasional cloudy days. With a large well arranged head with stand up shower that allows for showering without wetting down the whole head life aboard is easy. The unique rain catchment system on the cockpit roof means you can easily spend months in the islands and never have to buy water.
The two 9.9 hp outboards are suficient to push this cat along easily. Weighing in at only 8000# it dosen't take much to push this boat right along and together they barely burn a gallon and a quarter per hour.
This first thing you notice is the absence of complicated rigging. Not even spreaders. Just a stout well supported mast with in the boom reef lines lead to the cockpit. The Genoa is on a well built and reliable roller reefer and the decks are so wide that even the Gennaker requires no complicated pole to set. The overall rig is also kept low (47') and will move up and down the ICW clearing the fixed bridges without a care.
Light, fast and easy to sail. All lines lead to cockpit and there has never been a need to leave the cockpit in any weather except to anchor.
