Bareboat or Drive yourself Catamarans.
Many of our luxury catamarans in our fleet are brand new 2018 or 2019 models. They include Lagoon 42’s, Lagoon 450’s, Lagoon 50’s, Lagoon 52’s, Leopard 40’s and Gemini Legacy 35’s. These are among the most desirable and sort after sailing yachts in the Caribbean. They are big comfortable and sail especially well in the fresh winds of the BVI. They are easy to handle and equipped with a dream list of electronics, some even with water-makers, water toys and many amenities. Most all cabins are ensuite.
Our catamarans are all top of the line luxury vessels. Sometimes potential charter guests do not understand the term ‘bareboat’...as technically the boat is not bare as they all come with dinghy, sheets, towels, pots, pans, knifes, forks, glasses, blankets and more. Bareboat really means you drive and provision yourself. Upon booking a bareboat catamaran, we will send you an online food and beverage list where you order your meals and it is delivered to your yacht. You can order just breakfast and lunch and eat ashore or design any type of menu plan you wish.
On a bare boat charter type the guest operates the catamaran but we can also hire a captain that teaches you how to sail. You will need to fill in our online resume to ensure you are qualified. Many potential charter guests ask for pre-approval to drive themselves around the BVI’s. Click here to view RESUME.
Bareboat plus Skipper (Captain)
Do you not know how to sail but would like to sail for 7 days with an experienced Skipper? Then this option might suit you the best. You do not have to hire a chef upon hiring a skipper and you can request a captain for one day or the entire week depending your level of sailing experience.
Our Captains at The Catamaran Company are professional skippers and have local knowledge and for an additional fee the captain can teach you how to operate the catamaran. Here you can learn how to raise the sails, dinghy operations, navigation, anchoring and be taught very useful sailing tips. On this option, you still provision yourselves through the online provisioning link provided to you upon your booking. All provisions are delivered to your yacht the morning of your charter.
Bareboat plus Skipper (Captain) and Chef
The Catamaran Company operates catamarans 35 ft up to 52 feet in bareboat charters. Many of our catamarans are equipped with extra V berths in the bows with an additional toilet, sink and shower that is perfect layout upon hiring a skipper and a chef. Your group is still responsible in ordering and purchasing food and beverage and the chef is involved in your preferences.
The chef will prepare all your meals based on your likes and dislikes. This type of charter type still means you pay an additional fee for skipper and chef along with ordering and purchasing your provisions. The chef will clean the galley, prepare plated meals morning noon and night. Another difference that we would like to highlight is that you will not know who the captain and chef are up until 14 days or less prior to the charter as our crew are rotated among 30 different catamarans throughout the month.
If you prefer to book a known crew and to have the chef act as hostess with more duties, we invite you to consider the all -inclusive type of sailing vacation on catamarans 52 feet and up.
