Boat Overview

S/V Gypsy Rover is a 42 Endeavour center cockpit sailboat designed by Johannes Valentijn and built by Endeavour Yacht Corp. (USA) in Florida. Approximately 257 of these boats were constructed between 1985 and 1991. These popular coastal cruisers are known for their spacious and comfortable liveaboard accommodations both inside and out. With a shoal draft of 5′ these vessels are ideal for exploring shallower waters, and with a comfort ratio of 34.98 she performs steadier and more comfortably at sea.

Current Ownership

The current owner purchased S/V Gypsy Rover in the Rio Dulce and has enjoyed her for 11 years sailing around the Western Caribbean and anchoring for long periods. The boat is very well ventilated, making it ideal for the tropics.

Interior Features

The interior is spacious with ample storage and headroom throughout. There is plenty of ventilation with a large hatch in the forward and aft cabins, and two large hatches in the salon along with multiple opening ports. The galley is located on the port-side walk-through.

The aft cabin features a queen berth with plenty of storage and a separate head with shower. The salon is roomy with two settees, one being a double convertible settee to port, and a folding center table. The private forward cabin has a double v-berth with head and shower, along with ample storage.

Engine and Sails

S/V Gypsy Rover is powered by a Yanmar 66 hp 4JH-THE Turbo Intercooler diesel engine. The engine is easily accessible via doors on either side from the galley or aft cabin head. The sails are older but in good condition; the mainsail is partially battened, the headsail is a genoa with roller furling, and there is a removable forestay.

Additional Information

There are issues that need to be addressed to make this Endeavour more ready to go cruising again. It has recently been discovered that the Yanmar engine is no longer serviceable and needs to be completely rebuilt or replaced. Please enquire for more details.

S/V Gypsy Rover already has nice accommodations and will make an excellent coastal cruiser and liveaboard; she just needs more TLC to make her ready to go.
