S/V Free Spirit is now officially on the market. This exquisite 2007 Island Packet 485, designed by the renowned Bob Johnson and meticulously crafted by Island Packet Yachts, stands as a testament to safety and comfort, whether you are embarking on coastal cruising or daring to circumnavigate the globe. Over the years, Island Packet Yachts has earned its reputation as one of America’s premier sailing yacht manufacturers, recognized with numerous national awards for product excellence. The IP485 features a full keel design that leads to a lower pintle rudder, utilizing Full Foil Keel technology to encapsulate the keel without the worry of keel bolts.
This vessel has a rich sailing history; S/V Free Spirit was purchased directly from the factory in 2007. Her first owners extensively sailed her from France through the Mediterranean, even completing two Atlantic crossings. In 2017, the current owners acquired her in France and navigated her back to Turkey, where they undertook preparations for another Atlantic crossing. After enjoying extensive sailing in Turkey, S/V Free Spirit cruised through Sardinia, the Balearic Islands, and Spain, ultimately passing through the Gibraltar Straits to Gran Canaria and across the Atlantic. Since 2021, she has been exploring the Caribbean and is currently docked in Rio Dulce, Guatemala.
S/V Free Spirit boasts luxurious accommodations, offering ample living and storage space both inside and out. Both luxurious heads are equipped with vanities featuring solid acrylic countertops and separate shower stalls with seating and folding acrylic doors, and they are fitted with standard marine toilets.
