Staley Weidman, Yacht Sales
Hailing from Sarasota, Florida, Staley taught himself to sail on a sailboard and graduated to a Hobie Cat before attending Loyola University in New Orleans. While receiving a business degree in marketing, Staley was Vice President of the South Eastern Intercollegiate Sailing Association and captain of Loyola's sailing team for 3 years, racing everything from Lasers to offshore racing yachts. Currently, Staley is serving on the Alumni Advisory board for Loyola University's College of Business.

During an eight-year tour of duty in the Caribbean, Staley started as a sailing instructor for Offshore Sailing School as well as a charter captain for The Moorings and Sunsail. He was Operations Manager of Offshore Sail and Motor Yachts, a 35 boat fleet, for 2 ½ years and Base Manager of Sun Yacht Charters in the BVI's and Puerto Rico, where he managed a 90 boat charter fleet and 100 slip marina. If you want advice regarding charter yachts in the Caribbean, Staley is well qualified to give it!

For the next three years Staley was yacht sales manager and top selling broker for Sun Yacht Charters and Stardust Marine Charters, later purchased by Sunsail, where he sold new Voyage, Lagoon, Jeanneau and Beneteau yachts into charter and sold brokerage yachts out of charter all around the world.

In 2000, Staley became a Licensed Yacht and Ship Broker in the State of Florida with The Catamaran Company and Esserman Yacht Sales. Staley has been the top selling broker for 8 years running, helping monohull and catamaran buyers worldwide own private and charter yachts.

In 2003 Staley passed the Certified Professional Yacht Broker exam. CPYB designation demonstrates commitment to the profession in ethics, professionalism, and knowledge of laws and yacht design. CPYB certification shows the industry and the boat buying public Staley's dedication to his career and his ability to professionally represent buyers and sellers.

As Lagoon's Broker of the Year from 2003-2005 and numerous yachts sold, Staley has been instrumental in selling more new and pre-owned Lagoons than anyone else in the world. Since his start at The Catamaran Company, he has represented buyers and sellers in over 160 successful yacht sales. This unique double achievement has helped push The Catamaran Company to its highest sales levels since inception in 1989 and confirmed Staley's position as the leading catamaran broker in the world. With this kind of experience, Staley can give you realistic expectations and advice.

You can find Staley at any major in-the-water boat show in the US or Europe, regularly visiting catamaran builders in Europe and South Africa, or fishing off the Florida coast and Bahamas when not working hard for his clients.
