The Grenadines

Located in the southernmost part of the Windward Islands of the Caribbean Sea, they consist of 32 islands and cays stretching from St. Vincent in the north, to Grenada in the south. Most islands are only a few miles apart, and each offers something unique. Unspoiled beaches of white sand line the shores of the anchorages here. Crystal clear waters and some of the most impressive coral reefs on earth make this an ideal destination for cruising and snorkeling. Union Island is about 4 1/2 hours from St. Vincent (40 miles) and less than an hour from Carriacou. The island is about 3 miles long and 1 mile wide. It has a dramatic profile of ridges and peaks - yet the island is tiny. During the daytime, this island is an active hub of people passing through and returning before nightfall to Grenada, St. Vincent, Martinique, St. Maarten, and Barbados.

The Secret Anchorage

Your choice of the Lagoon 420, Lagoon 440 or Lagoon 500 awaits you in the secret anchorage of Chatham Bay. Boarding time is 5 o’clock in the evening, giving you time to reach your destination, relax after your travels and prepare for your memorable journey ahead. You will quickly find yourself on island time, and falling into a laid back state of mind. Chatham Bay is the anchorage that regulars to The Grenadines do not want you to know about. There is a good chance that you will have this place all to yourself, or share it with one or two other boats. The golden sand beach is literally deserted. The real reason you are anchored in Chatham Bay is to get away from everybody, so it is a great anchorage to just stay on the boat and relax. Solitude - that is why people come here.

Getting There

Union Island has a small airport and is easily accessible from Barbados, Carriacou, Grenada and Martinique. Once on Union Island, Chatham Bay is accessible by ferry or private boat. I am glad to help you with the arrangements and provide more information. Call me today to check boat availability and start planning your sailing vacation in paradise!
