The Bight is definitely one of the favourite and safest anchorages in the BVI's. Located less than 5nm from our Nanny Cay base, "The Bight" is often the starting point for many of our guests, offering ample moorings, (up to 90) 2 bar/restaurants, (Pirates and The Willy T) and some great nearby snorkeling spots. (The Caves & The Indians.) The easy sail across to Norman Island enables charterers to get used to their new craft, whilst still getting "away from it all" and starting that dream vacation. Your first snorkel can be done in the relatively sheltered waters of "The Caves," letting new and not so new guests get their feet wet and go treasure hunting! Getting to "The Bight" is fairly simple. From Nanny Cay the entrance lies directly behind Pelican Island and the rock formation and dive spot known as "The Indians." Keeping 100 yards clear to the east of Pelican and the same to the west of The Indians will find you in safe water and from there you can aim for the entrance to The Bight. The only other thing to note are the rocks running off of Water Point, at the northernmost point of The Bight and the shallow area close to Treasure Point, on the southernmost side. Once inside select a mooring ball and decide which eatery, or drinking venue you wish to patronise. Pirates is the beach bar/restaurant located at the east side of the mooring field and The Willy T is the floating schooner at the west side. Both offer good food, drink and cheer, it's entirely up to you which one tickles your fancy.
