Itinerary 12 days Langkawi

Day 1 : Welcome at Dream Yacht base
Telaga Marina, North-west of the island. Installation on board and briefing.

Day 2 : Navigation toward island Pulau Tepur / Pantai Cenang. - 7 NM
Mooring in front of Monkey Beach, very beautiful fine white sandy beach. During late afternoon, you can see monkeys coming down the surroundings hills. All along the Pantai Cenang beach, the most popular one of Langkawi, there are a lot of restaurants, shops, provisioning, as well as the Aquarium, inevitable.

Day 3 : Pantai Cenang, or Rebak island marina - 2 NM

Day 4 : Cenang / Pulau Gabang Darat - 7 NM
Navigation and mooring in the channel - kind of circus surrounded by cliffs and mangroves.

Day 5 : Pulau Gabang Darat / Pulau Dayang Bunting - 1 NM
Excursion on the island to visit the Pregnant Princess Lake, the biggest fresh water lake of Langkawi in an exceptional natural environment stamped with mysterious legends. There you can swim and have a "cruise" on electric pedalo after having a nice walk in natural reserve forest.

Day 6 : Pulau Payar - 20 NM
Navigation toward Pulau Payar Island, a heavenly sea reserve for snorkelling. Snorkelling with flippers, masks and tuba at Coral Garden, enchantment of corals and multicoloured fishes eating in your hands. Superb with sandy beach for sun bath.

Day 7 et 8 : Pulau Payar / Kuah Town - 20 NM
Crossing towards mooring in front of capital of Langkawi. Possibility to do shopping in the numerous duty free shops of the city. Kuah marina allows refilling water tanks.

Day 9 et 10 : Kuah Town / Kilim Natural Park - 15 NM
You enter in another world, billion years old, 100 km2 of calcareous cliffs emerging above verdant mangroves. Possibility to dine in the middle of mangrove at "fish farm". Extra fresh sea food.

Day 11 : Kilim / Tanjung Rhu Beach / datai - 16 NM
Navigation toward Tanjung Rhu Beach on North Cape of Langkawi. Very beautiful beaches edged of casuarinas. Beautiful navigation with a great view of surrounding islands and Thailand. Evening mooring in front of Datai hotel frequented by Jet Set. Last swimming.

Day 12 : Back to Telaga marina. Check-out at Dream Yacht base.

Day 7 : Back to Telaga marina - 10 NM
Provisioning and preparation for departure for Thailand.

Day 8 : Navigation toward Ko Lipeh - 25 NM
This island is inhabited by Chao Leh (Sea gipsies), beaches are edged by numerous restaurants, white sand and turquoise waters.

Day 9 : Ko Lipeh

Day 10 : Navigation toward Ko Adang. - 5 NM
Uninhabited island, famous for its multicoloured corals, its water fall.

Day 11 : Navigation toward Ko Rawi - 5 NM
Uninhabited island, numerous water falls around Ko Rawi.

Day 12 : Navigation for Ko Butang islet - 3 NM
Day 13 : Back to Telaga marina - 32 NM

One Way Langkawi - Phuket from our base at Telaga Marina in Langkawi

Day 1 :
Arrival at Telaga Marina, Dream Yacht base in Langkawi.

Day 2: Pantai Cenang- Dayang Bunting
This first day will bring you from the Marina to Pantai Cenang, the most popular beach of Langkawi. In the afternoon, after a short cruise to Dayang Bunting you won't miss the fresh water lake a place full of mystery and legends.

Day 3: Dayang Bunting to Kilim River
Enter in the awarded most beautiful mangrove forest in the world river cruise and visit the caves with dinghy. In the evening the Fish Farm Restaurant will welcome the sailors with fresh seafood.

Day 4: Kilim River To Datai Bay
A nice sail to the exclusive bay of Datai home of the famous Datai hotel catering to the Jet Set. Here you can enjoy a magnificent sunset over the Andaman Sea.

Day 5: Datai Bay to Ko Lipe (Thailand)
This is the day you will cross the border between Malaysia and Thailand before arriving to the laid back beach of Ko Lipe, in the Butang group. Pristine clear waters, fantastic snorkelling, white powder sand...and the welcoming sea-gypsy's setteling on Ko Lipe.

Day 6: Ko Lipe - Ko Adang
After a short sail of about one hour you arrive on Ko Adang an uninhabited island of the Butang group. Snorkelling is especially good here and you find a fresh water stream: Take a refreshing shower in the heart of the jungle.

Day 7: Ko Adang - Ko Rok
The longest sail during this cruise. 45 Nm through the deep blue waters of the Andaman Sea before arriving on the island of Ko Rok

Day 8: Ko Rok
Explore the treasures of Ko Rok. Fantastic beaches without anyone there, the fisherman shrine, and pristine reefs for snorkelling.

Day 9: Ko Rok to Ko Muk
Ko Muk has the most impressive Hong (cave) in Thailand. After a 100 m trip by dinghy inside a narrow cave you will arrive at an internal lagoon complete with a white sand beach. Magic!

Day 10: Ko Muk to PhiPhi
Back to civilisation. Phiphi has fantastic scenery. It's a bit like Ibiza in Thailand!

Day 11: PhiPhi to Krabi
Railay beach is a place not to be missed featuring cliffs that made the spot a destination worldwide renowned for its rock climbing.

Day 12 - 13: Krabi to Phang Nga Bay
Cruise along all the islands of Phang Nga Bay, James Bond Island, the Sea Gypsy Village built on stilts over the sea and the lagoons and caves of Ko Hong and Ko Phanak...

Climate

Malaysia has an equatorial climate with sea influences. Country get two monsoon periods. So there's no real dry season, weather is warm (except in altitude places) and damp all the year long. On the other hand, water temperature is almost constant, between 26° and 29°C

North East monsoon
(winter monsoon): takes place between November and February and brings rains on east coast of the peninsula as well as Sabah and Sarawak regions. It waters also centre and west coast but in a lighter way.

South West monsoon
(summer monsoon): Takes place between August and November and reach west coast but with lighter rains than winter monsoon.
