The Lagoon 450 is simply amazing and the Owner Melanne Maddalene put many upgrades on her catamaran such as electric winches for dinghy, upgraded genset, charcoal barbeque, complimentary noodles, rafts and blow up kayak. The fly bridge is amazing as you probably know!! The Owner, Mel, currently owns two catamarans in The Catamaran Company Fleets. Not only does she own the Lagoon 450 named "Between The Sheets" but a proud owner of a 5 cabin Lagoon 520 named Nauti By Nature.
The Lagoon 450 is the hottest Cat in BVI for 8 guests. It is simply gorgeous and always very hard to get dates. So book at least 6 months in advance to get the desired dates. Each Guest Cabin boasts en-suite bath and separate shower with glass door, all lower walk-around berths. The salon is beautiful with wonderful open galley and the aft outdoor salon has amazing seating with outdoor bar area cushions. The fly bridge is such a wonderful feature and acts as a second level for the Group to enjoy. In addition to the fly-bridge enjoy forward sunken seating large tramps - simply put. This cat has it all.

“ Sitting at the helm of a beautiful sailboat has always been my 'happy place'... and keeps me sane! I live by the rule 'Work Hard, Play Hard'... and had been chartering from CatCo for about 10 years - and consider them family now. I fell in love with the Lagoon Catamarans (perfect example of beauty and performance) - and decided that I wanted one of my own - to sail with all of my friends and to sit on and write the two books that I have had 'in me' for the last 12 years! Thanks to Lisa Eberle - who I had shared this dream with - it became possible! I was in Frankfurt, Germany one night - and got a phone call at 2am Frankfurt time. It was Lisa, saying 'I have your boat Melly!!!! It's a Lagoon 450!!!'.... and that was the beginning of an adventure that just continues to grow!! I love my 450... and always will... but then I had the opportunity to sail the Lagoon 520 the following year - thanks to the staff at CatCo. I fell in love with the 520 - and got to fully customize her to my specifications - thanks to Hugh, Lisa, Didier and Marianne!! I wonder what will be next - as I build my fleet!
As I was a charterer for many years before I became an owner - and as I am an owner based on the love of the Lagoon Catamarans, versus as an investment, I have taken great care to customize my boats with myself and my guests in mind. The first thing I did with my Lagoon 450, Between The Sheets, was to make sure that the forepeak cabins were comfortable and could be used as additional cabins. I worked with the Base Staff Head mechanic, Didier (who is amazing), and had him air-condition both cabins. I also ordered extra stools that can be used for the inside table or the table on the back deck. I then added the biggest chart plotter that I could fit at the helm - even thought I know the islands like the back of my hand, I am aware that many of my guests do not - and find a chart plotter very helpful. I have kept a charcoal barbeque as we catch lots of fish when onboard, and the taste of the mesquite briquettes makes a huge difference in the flavor of what we cook!!
One thing that I would like to highlight about the 450 is that she sips fuel - the engines as well as the generator. We go a full 10-12 days without filling up until we come back to base (and we do motor frequently as we like to get to the beach bars early!!). I have to say, in all honesty, the Lagoon 450 is the most perfectly designed boat I have ever sailed - there is no space that you will not use... even the foredeck cocktail/sitting area - which is big enough to take a nap with a few close friends or to enjoy the sunset! ”

Excellent boat - very secure. Air conditioning! Sailable catamaran. We have a Beneteau 46, so the Lagoon's features/amenities/decór was very comfortable. More info on the fuel (gal/yr) consumption, water (when to fuel up would make planning or points of interests/itinerary nicer).

Lagoon 450 Cockpit
Spacious! Ideal for sunbathing when on charter and is on the same level as the galley with ample ventilation throughout the catamaran. It gets better in the forward area with a second cockpit inclusive of trampolines! In addition to the forward area, the transom platforms for coming aboard or accessing the tender is large and safe!
Lagoon 450 Interior Features
We mentioned already that the new Lagoon 450 has elegance and superior functionality. The salon of this new catamaran is very well lit with high headroom, cabins included. All beds in the cabins are queen size island berths. The galley is "U"-shaped for greater comfort when sailing on your charter and is located between the cockpit and salon at the same level. The catamaran is quieter with the engine compartments remote from the living areas and perfectly insulated. The new Lagoon 450 accommodates six to 12 guests on charter.
