What is YACHT EXCHANGE™

For those owners participating in our 77/23% program, you can now simply name a location and the type of sailing vacation you want and simply exchange your yacht’s time for another yacht’s time, allowing you to sail the world. It’s just that simple. Want a week in the Mediterranean? No problem! Just let us know when and where.

We will work with you to develop an outstanding opportunity to live your dream. No down side, a week for week exchange of owner’s usage where the only variable might be in turn-around fees and the cost of available waterside services like diving, water toys, insurance, etc.... This is an exchange based upon comparable size. Want to try a larger yacht for the experience? You pay just the difference in charter rate. What a great way to get a feel for what may be your next yacht along with a dream vacation

HOW DOES IT WORK?

If you the owner decide to charter your own boat you earn no revenue during this time and will pay the normal turnaround fees.

If you would like to visit an alternative location like Bahamas, Seychelles or even Tahiti, you may cash in your net revenue

and apply it to a week at your destination choice and pay no turnaround fees.

NO OUT OF POCKET EXPENSE

One of the many advantages to this program is that you do not have to advance any funds for your future charter.  We will apply the net revenue from a charter that is reserved on your yacht in Tortola.  In some cases you may even earn more revenue if the yacht you reserve is less expensive than your own…

EXAMPLE OF NET REVENUE

Say you decide to purchase a Lagoon 440 that has four cabins with four ensuite heads/showers.  You decide to equip the boat with Air Conditioning, flat screen TV’s and some other top end appliances.  You also decide that your yacht will be available 11 months of the year.  With this description, it is safe to say that you should earn at least 26 weeks on your catamaran earning top dollar.  Your yacht will most likely be booked solid from December though July still allowing your to charter your yacht 5 – 6 weeks a year.

In august you will see a decline in bookings and nothing in September due to the base closed for annual yacht maintenance.   You will then see a steady increase heading up to December.  The rates vary from season to season. Typically  there are four seasons.  High, mid high, Mid Low, Low.  Rates  vary from $8300 to $6000 depending on competition, boat shows, and special offers.

As an owner you will normally receive your revenue on the 15th of the following month your charter took place.  You will receive your net revenue.  This means funds are sent to you after we deduct Brokers commission, turnaround fees, credit card fees and any other fee you may have agreed to upon placing your yacht into charter with us.

CAN THE NET REVENUE BE APPLIED TO THE ENTIRE CHARTER AMOUNT?

The net revenue earned from your yacht in Tortola will only be applied to our ‘partners’ rental fee.  As you are now the charterer and not the owner of this vessel, you are responsible in adhering to the ‘partners’ (other company) policies.

WHAT ARE THE HIDDEN FEES?

Upon booking a bareboat charter you have mandatory extras and optional extras that you may choose to purchase.  As you are now the charterer, you are responsible in purchasing their optional holiday insurance, mandatory security insurance, fuel, provisioning and any other additional fee.  The rental fee will be covered by your NET revenue.

Usually when deciding on a crewed charter all expenses are included in the charter fee like meals, watersports and bar.  ( only taxes may be due upon arrival)
