Few people have George’s yacht sales experience.  Born in Darien, Connecticut, on Long Island Sound, to a notable sailing enthusiast, George Coggeshall was bound to be involved with boats from a very early age.  George has become accomplished in his own right while cruising, competing, and selling boats for more than 45 years.  He has owned and operated both powerboats and sailboats of various sizes.  His passion for boats, his knowledge of the purchase and sale process, and his easy, friendly, professional approach with his clients assures you that you will have the best possible experience. “I treat my clients professionally.  This usually results in long lasting close friendships”.

George has been involved in well over 500 yacht sale transactions of every type both domestically and internationally.  He has made it a point to visit the factories of many new boat manufacturers around the world.  He holds the CPYB (Certified Professional Yacht Broker) distinction achieved by less than 1% of yacht brokers worldwide. While versed in every type of sale and purchase, he has developed an expertise in catamarans as the sales manager for several of the largest catamaran brands in the world.  He also developed an expertise in income producing yacht charter management programs for boat owners looking to make money with their boats.  He was the brokerage sales manager for the parent company of The Moorings, Sunsail, and Footloose Yacht Charters for 7 years and the Private Sales director of Leopard Catamarans by Robertson and Caine before joining The Catamaran Company as Sales Manager.  Whether working on a 30’ to 120’ powerboat or sailboat transaction, George’s knowledge is sure to be helpful in either a small local or a complex international transaction.  He looks for the best value for his client’s needs, new or used, while looking for boats of the finest pedigree.

George also has experience as a “live aboard” with his wife on their own Nelson Merck designed 43 foot boat “Rendezvous”.  They cruised the coasts of Florida, Bahamas, Mexico, Belize, and Guatemala for more than a year.  He has additional international cruising and racing experience in most of the Caribbean Islands, the Pacific, the Mediterranean, the Greek and Turkish Isles as well as both of the US coastlines.  George’s passion for travel has taken him to over 35 countries.  Just ask…… George can give you his firsthand impressions on a great deal of boating and marine manufacturing locations.

Today George lives on the Ft. Lauderdale, Florida waterway with his wife Heidi and two sons Christian and Carsen.  This puts George in the global center of yacht sales to help you further.  His whole family is active in sailing, fishing and diving.  Give him a call and he might even be able to provide you with a night of transient dockage and unparalleled hospitality at his home.
